  Cloud Architect

  Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to drive the adoption of cloud technologies within their computing environment. The position is with a stable, mid-sized, financial service firm located in NYC. This is a hybrid remote role, requiring the employee to work on-site two days per week. The firm provides excellent benefits

  The Cloud Architect will partner and collaborate with consumers of IT and applications in the organization; empowering the firm to leverage cloud technologies and principles while maintaining strong security, governance, resiliency, and reliability.

  Responsibilities will include:

  • Define standards related to the adoption, implementation, and use of cloud technologies. This includes security, identity and access management, compliance, cost management, license management, performance management and monitoring
  • Architect platforms for infrastructure as code, provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources
  • Continuously review adopted cloud technologies reducing duplication of technologies, driving expertise and automation
  • Collaborate with all users of the platform so they understand why choices were made and how to get the most out of what’s available on the platform.
  • Work closely with IT security to ensure the adoption of cloud resources aligns with the company’s security posture
  • Work closely with IT development teams to collaboratively implement standard toolsets with appropriate configuration and governance in place to ensure developers have an attractive ecosystem to work and create

  Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent is required
  • Ten or more years’ professional experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Cloud Architect role
  • Practical work experience in IDLC processes such as Incident, Problem and Change Management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • It would be beneficial, but not required, to possess a certification such as an MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, or Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect
